Prezi Presentation - Technology Reflection of the iPad

  1. Content features
    1-Pedagogy-Content:
I like how you see Ipad as a tool to make content both more interesting and more engaging. I think it is harder now more than ever to keep a students focus. Thus highlighting the importance of making content more interesting and engaging. Your idea to use the Ipad to teach students to write letters is a sound one. I'm sure writing each letter on the Ipad is more interesting than doing so on paper.
    2-Technology:
I also did my prezi on Ipads. I just feel that they have the biggest potential to become and essential part of the classroom sometime in the future. It isn't too far out to think that someday the Ipad could replace pencil and paper all together. I was able to find a picture of an entire class of students, all holding Ipads! Although the cost of Ipads is currently holding them back from becoming mainstream, someday down the road they may become just as cost effective as a notebook and a pencil.

    3-Technology-Pedagogy:
Your use of the application iWritewords is perfect for the age group your looking at. kindergarteners are looking to learn their letters, and the iPad would be a very fun way to do so. I also like how you mentioned the iPad apps are good for "drill and practice." I too used this term when praising the iPad for its effectiveness. The iPad can provide students with practice in a way that teacher just can't.

    4-Technology-Pedagogy-Content:
I agree that the iWritewords app provides an extremely efficient and effective method of drill and practice when it comes to teaching young students how to write each letter. In addition, I also agree that the app makes the act of practicing writing itself more interesting and engaging. The colors and the touch screen both serve to make the experience an interesting one for even the most easily distracted students.

    Structural features:
    6-Path:
The path of the prezi was smooth. I liked how you jumped right into a video after the intro point. I also liked that you had a slide dedicated solely to a picture of the iPad. I always put the picture in with text, and it never occurred to me to have the picture stand alone. My one complaint with the path was at times you zoomed in too far, and the title of the slides couldn't be read without having to first zoom out. Other than that it was fine.

    7-Text:
The text you included was all very helpful. I liked that you occasionally wrote in full sentences. At the same time, you never tried to fit multiple sentences on the same slide. You also included slides that just had bullet points. This created a nice overall flow to the prezi, in addition to the path.

    8-Visuals (picture/video):
You did a nice job spreading out the pictures throughout the prezi. I was caught off guard by the video being the second slide. I feel it could have used a text introduction to be a bit more effective. Your use of pictures though was very subtle. I liked how it felt effortless, and not like you were just trying to include the required amount of images. I especially liked the giant picture of the iPad featured in the third slide. Overall, excellent work. I thoroughly enjoyed your prezi.
